THE HOCKEY HOUSE FINALS : PREVIEW

FRONTYARD HOCKEY LEAGUE FINALS

(1) LES COQS (5-1)  vs  (1) SAUCE (5-1)

The same story has come true yet again … The 2019/2020 regular season ended with last years FHL finalists once again dominating the regular season and clinching the top seeds in their respective conferences. After two postseason rounds, both clubs have tallied an early round sweep and are slated to meet in the Frontyard Cup finals for the 4th consecutive year. The question is … can the Roosters finally get the win or will the Sauce make it 4 in a row ?

Les Coqs have been the most dominant force in FHL Regular Season history, posting a ridiculous +42 goal differential and a 16-1 record. It was to no ones surprise that the lone loss came on the final night of the FHL regular season against their largest rival, Sauce. FHL veterans Chad Croft , Dan Hefford and FHL rookie Matt Henry have been unstoppable as the clubs top line and have posted a ridiculous 46 goals between them. In addition, the acquisition of former BHL Champion goaltender Brad Hill could prove to be the missing link that can get them to the promised land. Since arriving in the crease for the Roosters, Hillsy has posted 3 shutouts and a sparkling 1.50 GAA.

The 3-time defending Frontyard Cup Champion, Sauce began to find their stride as the regular season came to a close and took the momentum into the playoffs. After a first round sweep over the Tip Insects and 3 straight wins over the expansion Swamp Donkeys to advance they look poised to give Les Coqs all they can handle as they look to defend their title for the 3rd straight season. The Sauce have been led in the post season by Rookies Jono Bennett, Josh Parrish & goaltender Jaiden Pert. The offence will also get a much needed shot in the arm with  the return of former FHL MVP Tyler Ireton who is slated to get back into the lineup after suffering a broken arm in the regular season finale.

FUN FACT : Once the puck drops for Game One … These two teams will have played more games vs each other in the Frontyard Cup Finals than they have in 4 years of regular season games ... WOW … Now that's what you call a rivalry !!!
