2023 Hockey House CONFERENCE FINALS : PREVIEW

2023 Hockey House CONFERENCE FINALS : PREVIEW

BHL Central Scouting

PREVIEW : Conference Finals

4:15pm - (2) Les Rayons (3-2) VS (4) Les Cones (3-2)

This series should be a good one as the defending Champions will be facing a tough test in a Cones team that looks rejuvenated by the post season. In the opening round both teams won a five game series in which they were trailing at some point. The Rays have had a balanced attack this postseason with several teammates cashing in on goals in round one. Kieran Judge, Wes Binedell and Rusty Black have all recorded at least 3 goals already in the postseason. Les Cones have relied heavily on the production of their top line of Dave Collo, Gary Goodall & Tyler Ireton as the trio has combined for 18 points in the opening round.

5:30pm - (1) Iceholes (3-1) VS (2) Mooseheads (3-2)

The Mooseheads saved their season after it looked like they were about to lose 3 in a row and be eliminated, that win has given them new life. The Iceholes on the other hand haven't played a game in over a week after ending the season for the defending back2back Champion, Top Cheese. This postseason, the Mooseheads superstars have been just that with the Tim McKay tallying 13 points in the opening 5 games and complimentary players Sam Kay , Alex Regan and Dmitry Chaykovskiy each chipping in at least 8 points. On the otherhand, the Iceholes have had a much more balanced attack with ten different players recording postseason genos. Micheal Hopkinson has played well in the pipes with a 2.51 goals against in Round One.

6:45pm - (1) Les Pylones (3-1) VS (3) Les Castors (3-1)

Les Castors dispatched of the Seals pretty handily as they outworked them in the opening round. Ondrej Kozak continued his excellent play as he was able to bury eight goals and add three helpers through round one. Every player except for Dave Kubik has recorded a point for the Beavers and it's that balance and depth that could help Les Castors to advance. Les Pylones have had a fairytale season so far claiming their first Founder's cup in seven years and getting out of the first round for the first time in eight years. After a hard fought series with the Sunshines and an injury sidelined Ice Black Alex Polozov, Kyle March has been absolutely unstoppable tallying a league leading ten goals and five assists through his first four postseason contests. Like their opponent, depth has been key as all but two players hit the scoresheet in the opening round.

8:00pm - (1) Swamp Donkeys (3-0) VS (3) Fishsticks (3-2)

The Donkeys swept round one over the Sauce and were the only squad to record a sweep in round one. That said, the squad has not played since they competed in and won the longest game in hockey house postseason history. That was 12 days ago ... Will they be rusty or rested ? Through the first 3 games Benji Potvin and Mike Weed have lead they way with each player potting 3 goals. Curtis Crosswhite has also been sharp with a 3-0 record and a sparkling 1.20 GAA and a .942 Save % to lead all FHL Tendys. The Fishsticks fought hard to be where they are now, in the opening round they found themselves trailing and on the brink of elimination in game four. After perservering and winning back to back one goal games they yellow and purple advanced. Ace Flores, Ben Foyle have provided the offensive spark and veterans Dave Fane and Phil Lyle have locked down the backend in the cup quest thus far.
