Goodbye to Christie and Welcome to

Goodbye to Christie and Welcome to

BHL Central Scouting

Luke Christie will set his sights on a new career opportunity in the Nation's Capital and unfortunately will be unable to finish the BHL season after the Christamas holiday. The Napier native currently is in the midst of his best BHL campaign and has Les Phoques poised to take a league lead into the break.

Christie's BHL career started with a shared role with the expansion Seals franchise in 2014. Reliability has always been a staple of Lukey's as he has battled each and every throughout his time in "The Show". Sadly, he will enter into his last BHL game on Thursday Night with a matchup against the Toe Dragons.

When the puck drops and Luke will enter into the 35th game of his BHL career with a record of 17 - 17.

Number 39 has the distinction of being the 1st BHL goaltender to ever record a post season shutout, has amoung the lowest G.A.A since joining into the Backyard of any goaltender in that span. A great guy all around who will be will be missed by the boys in the locker room and even more on the ice as Lukey currently leads all BHL Goaltenders with 7 wins, 505 Minutes Played and a league low 3.07 GAA with 1 shutout on the season.

In light of the recent departure, Les Phoques GM's Matt Harvey & Aaron Somerville have decided to hand the reins over to the another goaltender who shared the goaltending duties in her first BHL season.

The Seals will now call upon FHL affiliate Les Coqs, starter Lochlyn Hyde  (6- 1, 1.41 GAA) to take over the BHL goaltending duties as of Thurs, Dec 15th. Hyde is the only player in the history of the BHL to have thier name engraved onto the Backyard Cup twice in consecutive years. She will tie up her stellar season with the FHL's Les Coqs when she hits the ice this Thursday as part of the 3rd Hockey House Mashup.

The Seals have agreed with and signed free agent goaltender, BHL Backup Mike Parsons to fill the roster spot with the FHL's Roosters and will introduce him to the Seals franchise next week.

Can Les Phoques sustain the biggest dose of adversity they have faced this season ? The answer to that will start in net.
