Monday, October 5th will mark the true beginning of the BHL season as all 6 BHL teams will have thier respective superstars in the lineups with the recently played New Zealand Inline Nationals tournament coming to a conclusion this past weekend. The BHL was heavily represented accross the Men's Premier and Sr Women's divisions in Hamilton this past week as more than a dozen BHLers participated in the festivities.
In the evenings first tilt, the Toe Dragons should see the return of thier goaltending tandem of Scott Collins and Lochlyn Hyde, superstar Justin Daigle and the debut of Czaba Kercos Magos. They will need that help as they will most likey be facing the potent offensive juggarnaut that could be Les Castors this season, who will welcome back 2014/15 BHL Top Forward Stephen Mawson. The big bodied centerman will no doubt raise the play of BHL number one draft pick Ondrej Kozak who potted 7 goals over the weekend in an SNC Div A game but just couldn't seem to find his stride in his BHL debut.
Top Cheese will look to build off of thier win in the opener, when the team's leading scorer Shaun Dickinson returns, 2nd overall draft pick Josh Stove makes his debut and newly aquired defender Illina Rothi dons the green and gold for the first time.
In the final matchup, Les Pylones after sqeaking out a win in OT against last years champions will see BHL vets Scott Henry, Sam Kay, and Sam Pillidge return as they face the Iceholes who will welcome back 2014/15 BHL leading scorers Ritchie Hopkinson and Vinny Cistrone as well as Top Goaltender Mikey Hopkinson.
The inline specialists return just in time, as the BHL will play two epic evenings this week with another round of of matchups slated for Thursday night before the BHL schedule cozies into thier weekly timeslot of Thursday evening leading up until Christmas.
