2019-2020 TOE DRAGONS
The Toe Dragons are the NEW Expansion BHL squad. Led by Brothers in law, Dave Tallot and current NZ Ice Black Mike Attwell. The Expansion Draft saw the Dragons collect several pieces of talent ... BUT ... with No familiarity will they be able to Gel ?
They have a plethora of talent to spare and several veterans sprinkled in among the skilled players. Leading the way to the new identity will be NZIHL DMan Matas Barakauskas, and a trio of talented forwards to go alongside him in Kyle Jonsson, Ondrej Kozak & Maxim Kalhuzny ...
The biggest surprise so far to the new look dragons is both David Tallot and Mike Sinclair being named to the big Squad out of Selection Camp. How will the two Rookies fare on the bigger stage? ... Only time will tell.
On the backend, they have several BHL Journeymen on the point and 7th year veteran Brad Hill in the pipes fresh off a win in the Backyard Cup Final and a selection in the expansion draft.
BURNING QUESTION ? With all these new pieces and all the talent to be had .... Can the Dragons find an identity quick enough that will serve them well as they chase the Cup in the dog days of summer ?
ON THE FARM : With most of the FHL squad returning and after adding a few more depth pieces .... Can this team dethrone the Sauce & Coqs and be the first team other than those 2 to make it to the FHL Finals ?
Both teams will OPEN their respective Seasons
