Hybrid 4 - Line Icing Explained - It occurs when a player shoots the puck across his/her own blue line, both the centre red line and the opposing team's blue line and goal line, and the puck remains untouched. However, it is not icing if the puck is shot from behind their own blueline into the goal, or when the shot must be played by the opposing team's goaltender to keep it out of the net. In the former case with a shot puck crossing the goal line completely, the goal is counted.[
A major exception is when a team is shorthanded. A team trying to kill a penalty may legally "ice the puck". A team on a power play, however, must still follow the icing rules.
When icing occurs, a linesman stops play. Play is resumed with a faceoff in the defending zone of the team that committed the infraction. Teams committing icing ARE ALLOWED to substitute players.
Hybrid Icing still applies in this circumstance.
Maximum Roster Size : 15 Skaters , 2 Goaltenders
Minimum : 10 skaters, 1 Goaltender
If a team cannot reach the minimum roster size by the end of the 1st period. The violation will result in a double minor penalty (4mins) to begin the 2nd period. The penalty is to be served by one of the Captain(s) that did not comply with the policy. The penalty will also be SERVED IN FULL regardless of the opposition's performance. (Meaning the penalty cannot be nullified by a goal).
Thank - You in advance for your compliance with this policy and we will see you on the ice.
That said .....
Upon the commencement of the regular season and into the playoffs the BHL &FHL have decided to put into place a uniform policy to increase the look and feel of Hockey House gameplay and to pay respect to our sponsors and the management that has ensured we are looking good on the ice.
As of the beginning of the 2016/2017 season, ALL BHL & FHL players are required to be in complete uniform (Jersey and matching socks) at the start of the game.
Any team that fails to have ALL of thier players in full uniform prior to puck drop will result in a double minor penalty (4mins) to begin the game. The penalty is to be served by the player(s) that did not comply with the policy. The penalty will also be SERVED IN FULL regardless of the opposition's performance. (Meaning the penalty cannot be nullified by a goal).
Thank - You in advance for your compliance with this policy and we will see you on the ice.
